I Am A: Lawful Good Human Ranger/Sorcerer (2nd/2nd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-12

Dexterity-10

Constitution-11

Intelligence-14

Wisdom-13

Charisma-12

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Secondary Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Everything here is going along as usual. Lots of work, missing home, worrying about flood waters. Well okay, maybe flood waters aren't so usual. There's a lot of bad weather on the east coast in Aus. A brief news report -

Nine people confirmed dead in Australia

Nine people have been confirmed dead in Australia as storms and flooding continue to affect Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle.

Rescue workers last night urged thousands of people to evacuate their homes after the storms lashed Australia's east coast.

Officials said Newcastle looked as if it had been hit by an earthquake.

Emergency workers evacuated 400 people from their homes along the Central Coast overnight, including by boat and helicopter, and were urging some 5,000 residents in Maitland and Singleton, to the north, to seek shelter away from rising flood waters.

Accompanied by gale force winds, the storms have driven a massive freighter aground in Newcastle, forced the suspension of ferry services on Sydney Harbour and blacked out tens of thousands of homes.

Prime Minister John Howard said those affected by storms and flooding would be entitled to cash payments in addition to natural disaster funding offered by the state government.

The university is closed due to flooding, train lines are closed, a friend of mine's house is flooding, the river is threatening to breach it's banks, we may be looking at a flood like the infamous one in 1955. It's pretty scary stuff. And I'm on the other side of the world working lots (can anyone beat working from 9:15 am until 6pm without a break, and then again from 7:45pm that night to 12:45 am with no break the next day? ;)) and going out, like the other day we went to Starbucks with Penny and Emily and played blind threes, and today we are going for brunch with a whole bunch of people.

It's incredibly surreal.

I'm cleaning out my email. It has to be done. Why did I keep all these Fwds?

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. Okay, that's a little amusing. But then they stole these from the "Only in America" Fwd (which I only got about 6 times thanks very much.)

Oh and......

Only in Australia ... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
That's debatable!

Only in Australia ... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people canbuycigarettes at the front. That was a stupid one to copy and paste - supermarkets in Australia aren't allowed to do perscriptions.

Only in Australia ... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke. So many people seem to find this ironic, but there are legitimate reasons to order this way.

Only in Australia ... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters. Banks want our business, not us stealing their pens. What's wrong with that? If they chained down the pens and left the safe doors open, that would be funny.

Only in Australia ... do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage. I'd like to see you pick up a car and walk away with it, or get an insurance company to insure all your junk.

Only in Australia ... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place. Or someone we've been waiting to hear from all day, it goes both ways.

Only in Australia ... are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink. Disabled people never watch the practice/recitals of, or pick up/drop off friends and family at skating rinks. It's not allowed, eh?

NOT TO MENTION...
3 Aussies die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue.
I've done it. More than once. It won't kill you, okay. It's 9 volts. (It does feel wierd, though.)

58 Aussies are injured each year by using sharp knives instead of screwdrivers. The lazy buggers deserved it.

A massive 543 Aussies were admitted to Emergency in the last two years after opening bottles of beer with their teeth. The dentist I could understand, but emergency? Nah.

And finally......... In 2000 eight Aussies cracked their skull whilst throwing up into the toilet.
IF YOU'RE PROUD TO BE AUSTRALIAN SEND THIS ON
Sentiments like this last one, whether it's true or not, are not what make me a proud Aussie. (Probably not true. 60% of all statistics are made up on the spot you know. 35% of all people know that.)

Guys, don't forget to read my journal over at [info]sienna_gypsy too, okay? It still seems kinda wierd having two journals, but I've basically sorted it out that here at roses is for memes and personal thoughts and messages, and gypsy is for stuff that is okay for family to read and more about what I've been up to. I was going to update both today but I only have time for this one now. Maybe I can update gypsy on Thursday.

Onto the messages!

Happy Birthday Mel! It is Mel's birthday today, she is 22 and has a journal at [info]misspennycarrol. Well, technically it was yesterday in Australia, but it is the afternoon of the 13th where I am so that's what I am going by.

This means it is only a week until Ally's birthday! Ally will also be 22 and she has a blog at [info]lunchbox_queen and a sweet baking blog at [info]slackadaisy. I am going to send you guys mail but you will have to wait a little bit, I can't send it right now and then when I finally do it will probably take a little while to get there. So, sorry in advance for the lateness.

Ashama, my character on WoW is now level 34. I kind of have this rivalry going with another person I met, Crusherer. Yeah, it's pretty much the worst name ever. He's a hunter and his pet wolf's name is biter. And he types badly, like he is dyslexic or something, and I have to twist his arm to get him to quest with me rather than grind, (grinding is so boring!) but we've ended up friends all the same. He's a level and a bit higher than me at the moment, and it can be hard to catch up because I refuse to play every day, but WoW has its good moments. For some reason people are always giving me things. It's like I have a lucky charm of 'give me free stuff'. It's like "Here's five gold" "Here's 4 * 12 slot bags" "Here are some shoulders" "How about a helm" "You need some rings" "Have a few stacks of cloth". It's crazy. Rina, you have to send me the name of your charrie because I forgot how to spell it and I really want to play with you! If your charrie is still lower level than me I can twink you a bit with some old gear perhaps.

Have a meme!

You know you've watched too much anime/read too much manga when...

Rules are simple.
1. Post these rules in your LJ.
2. List 5 or more things that let you know you've read/watched too much anime/manga.
3. Tag 3 people.

1. It's the only style you ever draw in anymore.
2. You point suddenly at random, cute things, squealing "Kawaii desu!"
3. You glomp so much that some people are afraid of you. People have claimed that when you hug them you are 'draining their life energy'.
4. All the names you consider for your future children are from your favourite series.
5. Engrish and awkward translations are some of your most favourite things ever... "Love's all way!" "Fluffy temptation of wheat!"
6. The ^__^ face is your best friend.

I AM IN CANADA SAFELY! WHOO! YAY!

Planes are like rollercoasters with floppy wings instead of rails.

I got way too spoiled for Christmas and muh birthday.

It is cold and I love it. I stomped that ice up good!

Jesse and his parents are wonderful wonderful wonderful.

I do miss home, only because some of you guys are back there.

I will set up a new travel log LJ soon, probably tomorrow, when I am not so x.x (tired.)

Then maybe me make bit more sense, eh?

If you would be willing to do me a big favour, please write me an email that I can read on the plane so I don't go mad with boredom. All letters, no matter how short or long, will be greatly appreciated! You can send them to gypsy_dragonsoul@hotmail.com. I've been busy of late. I'll start at my party. There were parties and birthdays and outings before that, but I will skip those, as fun as they were.

Ally threw me a party for my 22nd birthday Saturday last week at her house. Do I not have the best friend ever!? A lot of people couldn't make it (that's December for you!), but Nick, Peter, Tegan, Dan and Mel came. Ally, Matt and Bren were there too of course. Even Michael stopped by. Matt made mini toasts, I made fruit punch, and Ally was all round awesome hostess and got an awesome chocolate mousse cake from her work. We played Pictionary and had a BBQ for dinner, talked, listened to music and went for a walk. Jesse sent me a picture of himself in a party hat to put up on one of the computer monitors so he could be there too. Of course, my friends decided that was their cue to turn him into a pirate in MS Paint. I'd post the picture but I don't have a copy. =(

The thing I regret is not getting any photos. That's two birthdays in a row! The bit I liked best was when everyone sang happy birthday to me by the glow of candles. That is always my favourite bit. Of course, I always find a way to make things dorky -
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Peta
Me:That's me!
*laughter*
Happy Birthday to you!

I'm such a doofus. =) But that's why you love me, right?

A list of gifts for prosperity (you people are far too generous!)

Ally and Matt - $200 (they snuck it into the gift bag I was putting my presents in, those sneaky devils!)
Nick - $100
Tegan - A dragon playset, Stewie sticker, teddy bear and Strassman DVD
Peter - Silver studs
Dan - $50
Michael and Soolin - $50 book voucher
Mel - A gold and ruby (it's real gold and the stone is red, I am guessing it's ruby) pendant and stud earring set

For my actual birthday, which was Thursday for those who don't know, Ally took me swimming in the pool and then out to Gloria Jeans for cold drinks. The Chai tea chiller is amazing! In the evening I got to have dinner with my family like I wanted. Just my parents and Krystal and her family at her house, but it was really nice. We ordered Chinese and had cake from the cheesecake shop. Krystal and Simon got me a great luggage set as a combined birthday and Christmas present!

Speaking of luggage, I have my passport in my hand and my ticket organised and am flying out to Canada on the 28th. That's only 12 sleeps away! I am so excited and scared. Mostly scared. There are so many things I can stuff up, and I am good at that!

Enough ramble about me. Now for excerpts from a book I know many of you will love.

Ten little known facts about hippopotamuses and more little known facts and a few fibs about other animals. )

I call it a December list because it's a birthday and Christmas list combined. My birthday and Christmas day are so close together in fact, (11 days) that I have been told that I am selfish for wanting to see my relatives on my birthday, because I will see them at Christmas.

Anyway, to cheer myself up, I wrote this completely ridiculous list.

Animals
Dragons. The kind that fly and breath fire. Figurines and books are great, but real preferred
Unicorn. The kind that flies
Unicorn insurance

Electrical
MP3 player
Wii
Laptop
PDA
Sewing machine
Anime (I have none)

Books
How to draw anatomy/manga/fantasy
Fantasy novels
Myths and legends, the old kind, Greek and such

Jewellery
I wear anything, silver, gold or costume. Mostly costume because I always worry about losing expensive things. I like blue or green stones best
Earrings. Shepherd hooks only, studs hurt my ears
Necklaces - anything cool
Bangles or bracelets
Silver charms for my charm bracelet

Clothes
Snow boots
A black parka with fuzzy hood trim
Scarf
Gloves
Cool socks
T-shirts, like the QC librarian shirt or Felix the cat

Other
Photo frames. Interesting ones, not the plain wood type
